A GUIDE TO THE COST OF THE SERVICE AT SUTTON COUNSELLING

Sutton Counselling is a non- profit making organisation and our counsellors work voluntarily. However, we depend upon client fees to cover the costs involved in providing this service.
In order to make counselling accessible we operate a sliding scale
to take account of the circumstances of each client.

THE INITIAL ASSESSMENT

This appointment lasts for up to an hour and a half,
to allow time to talk about what brings you to counselling.
It is an opportunity to think about your difficulties, with an experienced counsellor,
and consider what will be most helpful to you.

There is a standard charge of £35 for the assessment appointment.

When you book your assessment you will be asked to pay the full fee
as soon as possible to confirm the appointment.
This fee is non-refundable.

We accept cash or cheques,
which should be made payable to Sutton Counselling.

If you are unemployed, on benefits or are unable to pay this amount,
please CLICK HERE to learn about our Bursary Scheme.
ONGOING COUNSELLING

The fee for counselling in private practice usually starts from £40.
We operate a sliding scale up to £40.

It is important to consider how much of that you would be able to pay,
bearing in mind your income and commitments,
and remembering that the work of Sutton Counselling depends upon client fees.

A preliminary discussion will take place at the initial assessment
but the fee will be agreed with your counsellor at the first appointment.

Whilst this is a commitment, account can be taken of changes in circumstance
at any point during the lifetime of the counselling.
The fee will be reviewed periodically and we ask clients to tell us if their
financial circumstances improve as well as if there are difficulties.

Please note:
Payment is required for sessions missed or cancelled by the client.
